Flag of the United States of America

The Stars and Stripes features 13 alternating red and white horizontal stripes representing the original colonies and a blue canton with 50 white five-pointed stars representing the 50 states. The current 50-star version was adopted on 4 July 1960 after Hawaii's admission to the Union.
