Cambodia's flag was readopted on 30 June 1993 after the restoration of the monarchy, reviving the pre-1970 royal design first used in 1948. It displays three horizontal bands of blue, red, and blue, with the red band twice the height of the blue bands and a white silhouette of Angkor Wat centred on it.
The blue bands represent the monarchy and royal authority, the red expresses the nation and its people, and the white temple stands for religion and Khmer heritage. Cambodia is the only country whose flag features a building, and Angkor Wat has appeared in some form on every Cambodian flag since 1863, making it one of the most enduring national emblems in Asia.
