The Philippine revolutionary flag designed by Emilio Aguinaldo featured a white triangle at the hoist with a golden sun and three stars, on a field of blue and red horizontal stripes. First unfurled at the proclamation of Philippine independence on 12 June 1898, it is essentially the precursor to the modern Philippine flag.
The revolutionary Philippines flag represented the independence movement. Preceded the modern flag and was used during the Spanish-American War. Adopted when the Philippines declared independence from Spain.
