  • Six horizontal stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet
  • Designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978 for San Francisco's Gay Freedom Day Parade
  • The original eight-stripe version included hot pink (sexuality) and turquoise (art/magic); these were dropped for manufacturing reasons
