Three horizontal stripes of blue, white, and blue with a red 'C' encircling a golden disc on the left side. Adopted on 5 June 1911 (with the current design fixed in 1964), the 'C' stands for Colorado, coloured red for the state's namesake (ruddy earth).
The 'C' shape and colours represent the Colorado mountains and landscape. The gold represents the gold rush and natural resources. Colorado adopted this flag in 1911.
