British Somaliland (1884–1960) used a Blue Ensign defaced with a crown badge — representing British rule over northern Somalia.
British Somaliland was a British protectorate from 1884 to 1960. The Union Jack reflected British administration and control. Merged with Italian Somaliland to form Somalia in 1960.
