The Anglo-Egyptian Sudan (1899–1956) was a condominium using the Union Jack and Egyptian flag together, symbolising joint British-Egyptian rule.
Sudan was jointly administered by Britain and Egypt from 1899 to 1956. The flag represents this unique colonial arrangement during the British-Egyptian condominium. Sudan gained independence in 1956 and adopted its own national flag.
