The flag of the Kingdom of Libya (1951–1969) featured three horizontal stripes of red, black (double width), and green, with a white crescent and star centred on the black stripe. This flag represented the united kingdom formed from the three provinces of Cyrenaica (black), Fezzan (red), and Tripolitania (green).
The Kingdom of Libya (1951–1969) was an independent monarchy. Overthrown in the 1969 revolution that brought Gaddafi to power. The tricolour flag represented the short-lived kingdom.
