  • The Emirate of Bukhara (1785–1920) was a Central Asian Uzbek state ruled by the Manghud dynasty from its capital at Bukhara, a centre of Sunni Islamic scholarship for a millennium
  • Construction: a green swallowtail banner with gold crescent-and-star, a stylised hamsa (hand of Fatima), and Qur'anic calligraphy, bordered by a zigzag orange frame with pennants
  • Became a Russian protectorate in 1868 and was finally absorbed into the Bukharan People's Soviet Republic in 1920
