The Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099–1291) used a white or silver field with a gold Jerusalem cross — unique as it broke the heraldic rule of tincture. This is notable as an exception to the heraldic rule against metal-on-metal.
The Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099–1291) was a Crusader state in the Levant. Represented the height of Crusader power in the Holy Land. Fell to Muslim forces at the end of the Crusades.
